Forest Walk & Birchbark Biting Presentation

<< Snowshoe Excursions

The Story of the Birch

Join us for a 3-hour adventure as we learn about its historical significance, cultural uses, medicinal benefits, & the Cree art of birchbark biting.  We will snowshoe through the boreal forest along the shore of Amisk Lake, then return to the warm lodge for hot chocolate & a chance to try your hand (or teeth!) at birchbark biting. Our special guest is local Rocky Cree artist Kari Lentowicz of Acimostawin, who creates these art pieces & shares traditional practices & knowledge about the birch tree.
