March Boreal Birding
Enjoy a relaxing two- or more-night escape in a cozy cabin nestled in the boreal forest, where each morning begins with the songs of northern Saskatchewan’s most iconic bird species. Slow down, breathe in the fresh forest air, and prepare for an immersive experience designed for nature lovers and dedicated birders alike.
After a peaceful breakfast, join professional guide, biologist, and photographer Shayna Cossette for a captivating two-hour guided Boreal Bird Tour based right from camp. Leisurely explore the river banks, shorelines, forest floor, and towering treetops surrounding T&D Amisk Camp as you search for the remarkable diversity the boreal has to offer. Depending on the season, you may encounter Grouse, Eagles, Ducks, Shorebirds, Warblers, Corvids, Woodpeckers, Finches, Jays, Wrens, Gulls, Songbirds, Sparrows, and more. Along the way, you’ll gain insight into bird identification, habitat preferences, behaviour patterns, and the ecological importance of Canada’s boreal region.
Spend the remainder of your day exploring at your own pace — continue birding from your cabin deck, photograph the surrounding wilderness, or simply relax and take in the stillness of the forest. As evening settles in, unwind beneath expansive northern skies before retreating to your warm and inviting cabin.
The Boreal Birding Package offers the perfect blend of expert-led exploration and quiet northern relaxation — an authentic wilderness experience rooted in knowledge, conservation, and a deep appreciation for the wild.
